Coventry are a favourite round here for a reason, and thanks to a 1-2 win over Barnsley they secured us some cash back. Southampton and Burnley shared 7 goals as the Saints ran out 4-3 winners. Stoke beat Leicester 2-1 while it was only Middlesbrough who failed to get on the scoresheet with a 0-2 loss against Hull. 6/6 or 7/8.
Sunderland v Manchester Utd Tuesday 7.45pm
It’s a cruel irony that the manager of the club that is bottom of the league is under far less pressure than the one whose team are in the top third. Still, it’s been a tough week for David Moyes and a good win here – and United are so much better away from home this season – would go some way to keeping the faithful on side. The last cup match at the Stadium of Light saw Sunderland put 2 past Chelsea. Will lightning strike twice?
Valencia v Atletico Madrid Tuesday 9.00pm
The Copa Del Rey is in town and this is an enticing match between 2 Primera Liga teams. Valencia in 8th host Atletico who have won their last 7, have only lost once this season and are only second to Barca on goal difference. They thumped Valencia 3-0 at home in the league in mid-December but their opponents will put up more of a fight on home turf.
Real Sociedad v Villareal Thursday 6.30pm
Both of these 2 Primera Liga teams are sniffing around a Europa League spot although Sociedad were in Man U’s group in the Champions League this season and would prefer to be in the top 4 come the end of the campaign. With deep fixtures irony, these two play each other in La Liga on Monday before the return Copa Del Rey match next Thursday.
And if you want to make it four… Alcorcon v Espanyol Wednesday 7.00pm
