When Everton travel to Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, it is going to be a huge game for two players. Wayne Rooney returns to Old Trafford for the first time since he left them in the summer to move back to his childhood club Everton.
On the other team, Romelu Lukaku will face Everton for the first time since he left them in the summer to move the opposite way to Rooney and join Manchester United. This is sure to be a huge occasion for both player, but I am backing Lukaku to outshine Rooney and lead his team to victory.
Manchester United have started very well this season and Lukaku has played a huge part in that success. United dropped their first points of the season last weekend when they drew 2-2 at Stoke, but aside from that is has been the perfect start for them.
Everton have had a mixed start to the season, with two losses in their last two games. Those were against top teams, Chelsea and Tottenham, but they do need to perform well against those teams if they are to secure the seventh placed finish they are aiming for.
They are going to find it tough once again, against another big club this weekend and it is going to take a huge effort from Rooney and the rest of the team to pick anything up. I do not think they will be able to do that, and I am backing Manchester United to win the game on Sunday. Do not be surprised to see Romelu Lukaku on the scoresheet against his former club, he has had a great start to the season and will be desperate to prove that to his old team.
In the battle between Romelu Lukaku and Wayne Rooney, I am backing the new Manchester United man to lead his team to victory over Rooney and Everton.
