The Spanish title race is looking likely to go down to the wire and Real Madrid can stay in the driving seat with a win over Sevilla this weekend. Madrid are tied at the top right now with Barcelona, although they have one game extra to play, giving them an advantage. A home win over Sevilla this weekend will certainly keep the pressure on Barcelona.
Real Madrid have been in very good form recently, winning six of their last eight games. The two they failed to win came against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, the other two top teams in Spain. Elsewhere they have been in great form and with Barcelona the only team to have beaten them at home in the league, they look likely to pick up another win this weekend.
For a team that are fourth in the league, Sevilla have been a little disappointing recently. They have won just three of their last eight league games and managed just one draw and three losses from their last four away games. That sort of form will not win you games away against either of the big two and it is going to take a huge turnaround for them to beat Real tonight in what is such a big game for the hosts.
With the title still in their hands, I am more than happy to side with Real Madrid this weekend. Although they are playing fourth-placed Sevilla, they are playing a team struggling for form, especially away from home.
With plenty on the line, this experienced Real Madrid team will be able to handle the pressure and after making it to the Champions League final, they will be looking to complete the domestic and European double by taking the league title and the Champions League.
