On Saturday evening, two of Italy’s biggest clubs meet in Serie A, as big-spending AC Milan host reigning champions Juventus at the San Siro.
AC Milan spent big in the summer with the aim of challenging the visitors for the Serie A title this season. However, after a bright start to their league campaign, Vincenzo Montella’s team find themselves midtable in the Italian top-flight.
The Rossoneri’s form has stalled dramatically in recent weeks, as they have won just once in their last five Serie A games, including suffering defeats against Sampdoria, Roma and Inter.
The men from Milan did get back to winning ways in midweek with a 4-1 win at Chievo though. The win should raise morale ahead of this tough clash with the champions.
Milan have won four of their last six home games in Serie A, but have failed to win in their last two games in the Italian top-flight at the San Siro.
Juventus heads into this clash in third place in the league table and on the back of a three-game winning run in all competitions. Last time out the Bianconeri hammered SPAL 4-1 at the Allianz Arena.
Max Allegri’s side currently trail league leaders Napoli by three points and will be looking to make up ground on the team from Naples with a win in Milan.
The Bianconeri have a good recent record in the Italian top-flight, winning ten of their last 12 games in the Italian top-flight. The Old Lady has also suffered just one defeat in their last 14 on the road in Serie A.
Milan have been inconsistent this season and Juventus look to have recaptured their best form of late. The visitors are likely to win this clash. However, it may well be a tight encounter between two of the giants of the Italian game.
