PSG to see off Bayern Munich in the Champions League

Ambitious French outfit PSG host German champions Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night on matchday two in the Champions League.

The home side have made a good start to their campaign at home and abroad, winning six of their Ligue One games and winning their opening Champions League game 5-0 against Celtic.

Unai Emery’s side have endured mixed fortunes in Europe’s elite competition, though, as the French side have won just two of their five games in the Champions League. The Parisians have lost just two of their last 15 European games.

On home soil PSG have a very good record in the Champions League, suffering just one defeat in their last 24 outings. The home side have also scored two or more goals in six of their last seven games in Europe’s elite competition.

The French side have faced the German side on six occasions in European competition and recorded four wins while suffering two defeats.

However, last time these two teams met was back in 2000 in this competition, when the Bavarians recorded a 2-0 victory over the home side.

Bayern Munich are unbeaten in four matches in all competitions, having recorded three wins and a draw. Carlo Ancelotti’s side recorded a 3-0 home win over Anderlecht on matchday one of the Champions League.

The visitors have suffered just one defeat in their last six Champions League games. However, the Bavarians have a poor record on their travels in Europe’s elite competition, winning just two of their last eight away games.

Their recent away games in the Champions League have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in their last four away games.

Both of these sides have high hopes in this season’s competition, but PSG should have enough quality to record a narrow win in this clash.
