Paris Saint-Germain welcome strugglers Toulouse to the Parc des Princes in Sunday’s French Ligue 1 clash, and are big favourites to come out on top to potentially go level on points with leaders AS Monaco. Unai Emery’s side are coming off the back of an outstanding Champions League win in midweek and should have no problems this weekend as a result.
Emery’s Paris Saint-Germain side are second in the French Ligue 1 with 55 points from 25 games, coming off the back of five wins from their last six. The Parisians have been nearly flawless on home soil, enjoying four wins and two draws in their own backyard, and could find themselves joint-top with Monaco at the summit if they win this weekend and the current leaders lose. PSG haven’t lost a league game at home this season and will fancy their chances against a Toulouse side who can’t buy a win on the road.
As for the visitors, Toulouse are ninth in the division with 33 points, having lost three and drawn one of their last six games. The away side have greatly struggled for form on the road, suffering four defeats from their last five games, and have only picked up one win on their travels in the league this season. A win could see them go level on points with the top-six, but their inferior form is likely to see them coming unstuck at the Parc des Princes.
Paris Saint-Germain will be without Thiago Silva with a muscular injury, Giovani Lo Celso (not in squad) and Grzegorz Krychowiak (doubtful).
As for Toulouse, the visitors will be without Yann Bodiger (suspended), Odsonne Edouard, Jean-Daniel Akpa-Akpro, Dušan Veškovac and Clément Michelin.
With Paris Saint-Germain in fantastic form of late, while boasting a near flawless home record, a travel-sick Toulouse side who have been losing away from home on a regular basis are likely to come unstuck.
